1902 - 1983

Studied art with O.Pladers in Riga, Latvia. Designed two airmail postage stamps for Latvia. Graduated from New York Art School in 1959. A quiet and unassuming person by nature, he did not participate in many exhibitions. In 2008 Mellups was selected by the curator of the Chubb Insurance Company art collection for a one-man show of his paintings at the Chubb Gallery .
